A Rite of Fancy Book Recommendation and Review.
A short summary:
It All Comes Back to You by Beth Duke follows a nurse who is unexpectedly tasked with writing the biography of an elderly woman often described as the “Most Interesting Woman.” What begins as a professional assignment quickly becomes something more personal, as stories of love, heartbreak, reinvention, and resilience unfold.
Through shared conversations and remembered lives, the novel weaves together past and present, showing how experiences ripple outward across generations. The book is less about chronology than connection, how stories are preserved, how meaning is passed down, and how ordinary lives often hold extraordinary moments when viewed with care.

My review:
It All Comes Back to You is a very sweet and easygoing novel, filled with warmth and gentle optimism. It’s a fun read with feel-good themes that celebrate love, memory, and the unexpected ways people shape one another’s lives.
The storytelling leans into romance and sentiment, sometimes tipping into the over-the-top, particularly in its love stories. Still, that excess feels intentional, part of the book’s embrace of hope and emotional generosity rather than strict realism.
This is a comforting, pleasant novel, ideal when you want something uplifting that reminds you how stories, once told, continue to echo long after they’re shared.
