A Rite of Fancy Book Recommendation and Review
A short summary:
Persuasion follows Anne Elliot, a thoughtful woman who once allowed herself to be persuaded out of a youthful engagement to Captain Frederick Wentworth. Years later, with fortunes altered and emotions unresolved, Anne and Wentworth are brought back into one another’s orbit.
As they move through social visits, misunderstandings, and quiet reckonings, Austen explores constancy, regret, and the slow wisdom that comes with experience. This is not a story of impulsive romance, but of love tested by time, and proved stronger for having endured it

My review:
I am a romantic, and Persuasion rewards that faith.
I love do-overs, especially the kind earned through patience, humility, and growth. Anne Elliot is one of Austen’s most admirable heroines: calm, perceptive, and quietly steadfast in a world that undervalues her.
And yes—I love happy endings, particularly those that arrive not with fireworks, but with recognition. Persuasion reminds us that love can wait, that mistakes do not always foreclose the future, and that sometimes the right person really is the one who got away, until they don’t.
